Are you looking for some new home decor but do not want to spend a ton. Especially a ton of stuff that is made to look old but isn’t! Well this is a simple DIY project that can be done super fast and for super cheap price. I am a huge fan of ball jars. Sometimes I am  so crazy, I just buy a case to have on hand! They are amazing for gifts, practical uses, decor ideas, party ideas, baking, canning, and of course a ton more. What a versatile product.

This DIY project will have you making one for yourself and your neighbors! It’s that easy!

First you need a ball jar. You can buy them single for around $2 or you can buy a case of them for about $8-$10 bucks. Then you can buy a sample paint from a hardware store to use to pain the inside. You only need a small amount of paint for each jar. Next you can use a bottle cleaner or a coarse paint brush. Then you just need some decorative materials. Make sure the paint you look at is water proof, you may have to get a clear thick glaze to coat the inside with when it is dry, if you plan to put water in it.

After you coat the inside of the jar with the paint, let dry for a few minutes. Then get your paint brush or bottle brush cleaner and just scarp the inside of the jar. Kind of like your scooping out the left over paint. You can also do this with a spoon but you might get more paint on you and take a few minutes longer. Let your jar dry while your decorate the lid twist.

Now you can decorate your top part of the lid anyway you want. I choose to do so with a lace and flowers. I used a hot glue gun to glue the lace around the lid. Then where the two ends come together I glued the flower on. It looks seamless!

After The paint is dry you can place some pencils, fake flowers, or anything you can think of inside. Screw the top lid part on and add your little touch of you.

Now you have some awesome looking, cheap decor, that you made yourself! What a perfect gift idea too or even for a center piece to a table. I love my vase and can’t wait to make some more!
