POM POM Slime (2 ingredients) EASY

All opinions are mine and mine alone. Didn’t receive anything for my post.

SLIME! I know everyone right now is crazy about it including my 8 and 6 year old. She has so many ideas I had to put the breaks on and tell her one thing at a time. We tried a few recipes. The Borax one in honestly sucked.. Plus when I think of Borax I think of poison…. Anyway we decided to try glue and laundry detergent slime. We use these products everyday, I felt better about them so why not.

We are trying POMPOMS. There are many kinds and sizes of these. We got mini ones that were fuzzy and soft.

We also spent a lot of time getting super horrible slime! It was a MESS! I feel for you guys out there trying it and not achieving that amazing slimy texture you want. This recipe is by far the easiest I have tried. It can be tweaked too.

Things to keep in mind- Whatever liquid detergent you use will add color if its colored and also smell like the detergent. Also if someone has sensitive skin, try a clear or sensitive skin kind. My daughter can’t use certain detergents. Some detergents also dry out your skin but you know what works for your family. I got a gallon of slime at Michaels Craft stores. I also used a 50% off coupon. It was $27- With a coupon I had It made it about $14. STEAL!

YOU NEED

Elmer’s Glue 1/2 cup

Liquid Laundry Detergent  (About 1 1/2- 2 teaspoons)

Plastic bowls

Spoons

Paper towels

OPTIONAL- POM POMS/Glitter (We used two packages of Pompoms)

First start by pouring your glue into the plastic bowl. I also pour some detergent in the cap and add a teaspoon to the cap. Makes it easier to use later.

Once your glue is in the bowl. Grab your spoon and add a spoonful to the glue. Stir it well. Then play it by ear, you can add a 1/2 spoonful or a full one depending how much glue isn’t becoming sticky. The more detergent you add the “harder the slime will be”. TIP– Don’t be scared of the stickyness, just keep working at it.

I usually mis the glue around well, add a tiny bit more and once it al balls ups. I take it out with my hands and start to work at it. Knead it in your hands. If it is super slippery. Grab a paper towel and dry your hands. Removing the detergent from your hands does a whole world of difference. Knead it some more until it is a smooth constancy.

Now go ahead and add in your packet of Pom Poms. We add a little bit at a time so the Pom Poms don’t go everywhere. (I suggest letting the slime be and the pom poms get into the glue. They can fall out of it while your working them in. Just keep adding them back in and eventually they will stick fully to the glue in the slime.)

Now once your Pom Poms are all mixed in, you can clean up and enjoy your slime. Store it in a plastic zip lock baggy to prolong it’s life!
