Signs that tell you when you’re in love with a new house

There are many reasons that could make you to want to find a new home. Maybe something bad happened with the current one, you hate the neighborhood or you just like the sound of Esplanade condos. Regardless of the reasons, everyone can agree that finding a house you love is pretty hard. There are always those little voices in the back of your head that keep you from settling on a house with questions like “what if there is something better?”. The good news is that there are some hints you can use to determine whether or not you’ve just found your dream house and don’t even realize it. Here are some of the obvious tells for when that’s the case.

You know that you might be on to something when you actually want to go inside

If you’re house hunting you are probably going to see a lot of houses. But not all of them will have a certain allure to them that will make you want to go inside. If you find such a house, keep an eye on it because it might just be the one you were looking for.

It doesn’t take more than a couple seconds to feel welcomed once you step in

If you make that step and go inside, you might feel a certain something that will make you feel right at home. If that’s the case, your suspicions about finally finding the house you were looking for might be correct. It’s definitely a powerful sign when you feel that way from the very start.

Going in stranger’s bathrooms feels weird, but not with this one

Usually, people only trust one bathroom: their own. When going to visit people or when finding themselves in situations where there is a bathroom involved, most people might be reluctant to use the facility. If you visit a house and find that you have n problem with going in the bathroom, and that you actually want to go in, that’s telling you something.

Being defensive about a house you don’t even own might mean that you want to own it This one is kind of iffy because overlooking flaws is a dangerous thing when hunting houses. One moment you’re ok with fixing a pipe by yourself and the next thing you know you just bought a complete wreck while telling yourself “she’s a fixer upper”. But if you find yourself defending the various flaws found throughout the house (if there are any), you might just like it a lot.

You know you might be on to something special when you already picture yourself in it

A very powerful sign is when you visit a house and you already picture yourself painting the walls in the colors that you want and rearranging or bringing in the furniture that you want to have. In other words, when you picture yourself making that house yours, it kind of means that you want to make that house yours.

Not paying attention to a house’s flaws

This category applies to people that have dealt with any of the previous categories, or even all of them. Once you’re in any of those positions, you tend to overlook certain details that would otherwise grind your gears really good. You ignore problems and you put everything on the fact that you can just fix them later. But not everyone’s a born-to-be handyman (or woman), so it might be just wishful thinking on your part if you have no knowledge about what’s actually needed to fix the various home problems that might arise. In other words, you might think that you’re getting a bargain when in reality you’re not.
