Are you looking for a better way to photograph that scrumptious dessert you just made? This simple tip will make a huge difference. It’s easy, simple, and doesn’t cost a lot.
First you can get very creative with this idea! So I am explaining Mine! I choose to create a darker stain with white paint.
You Need…
Piece of wood 4×4 Is ok to use.(We got mine at Lowes) A small can of wood stain, small sample of white paint, paint brush.
First you stain the wood and let it dry for a while or over night.
Next you get the white paint and just brush it over the wood to give it a worn country look. (Let that dry)- I used a bottle cleaner! We don’t use bottles and I couldn’t find a paint brush.
SO I compromised!
Thats really about it. Then you can lay it up against the wall or create a creative backdrop to use behind it.
FINISHED PRODUCT
Keep in mind when it comes to taking pictures especially of food. It is about the lighting. So make sure you have a nice natural lighting spot to take your pictures at. Also some nice plate wear or photo props are always a plus. An example of what my “picture taking area” looks like is below!
AND
I am lucky have a kitchen with a ton of natural lighting. Sometimes to much. This wasn’t even a sunny day! Here are some examples of what it looks like when you take my tips and starting taking pictures. Oh yea! I do not have a DSLR! I only have a Nikon digital camera. It cost me about $300.
You can do different stains, paint colors, maybe even wall paper. You can get super creative with this idea! Just make sure you have great lighting and good food!

Great idea; I have a piece of wood that I plan to do that on — thanks for sharing.
