Are you looking for something new to make the kids or big kids in your family. Mac & Cheese and a grilled cheese slice cooked on an best indoor electric grills all smooched into one ! This is a very tasty sandwich and includes two of my kids favorites foods. Mac & Cheese and a grilled cheese all smooched into one! My kids love this and eat their whole sandwich. I have to say do not “KNOCK” it until you try it. Really easy to make and a great way to get rid of left over Mac & Cheese if you have any. If you give it a try comment and let me know you thoughts.
INGREDIENTS
4 slices Sourdough (or other dense bread)
1 1/2 cups leftover Macaroni & Cheese
8 slices American or Cheddar Cheese
2 tbsp Butter
DIRECTIONS
In a small nonstick skillet place heat 3/4 cup of mac & cheese over medium heat.
Once warm (about 3-4 minutes), shape mac & cheese into a pile about the size of the bread and top with 2 slices of cheese.
Turn off heat.
Butter 2 slices of bread.
Place bread butter side down in another skillet over medium heat.
Top one of the bread slices with 2 slices cheese.
Use spatula to lift corner and check doneness.
When lightly browned turn off heat. Use spatula to transfer mac & cheese rectangle onto cheese covered bread in the skillet.
Cover with the other bread slice, toasted side up. Gently press together with spatula and transfer to a plate.
Serve immediately.
I would never have thought of this idea, but I really love it! Believe it nor not, I am certain that my husband will LOVE this! No kids at home except for him….. LOL

I think that cheese and macaroni tastes better than macaroni and cheese.
lolll! i think this just might work for my picky eaters! i would have never came up with this one, though we do love leftover spaghetti on butter bread sandwiches! thanks for sharing =)
I’ve bought the boxed macaroni and cheese by Betty Crocker in the grilled cheese flavor, but this recipe is GENIUS! I will definitely be giving it a try. I am almost certain my kids will love it. Thanks so much for posting.
