Betcha Didn’t Know

I wanted to tell you about something that most of us parents of young children have in their homes and that is Crayola Crayons. Crayola Crayons are known around the world as a crayon that really stands up. I mean how many of us remember back in the days when we colored pictures to hang on the fridge and in turn bought our own children Crayola Crayons!

But I betcha didn’t know that Crayola Crayons can be used in moments of emergency. That’s right! I found another use for them the last time we had a real bad thunderstorm and well, you know when you have kids you can never find the flashlight. And I forgot to buy some tapered candles for emergencies just like this!

I knew that my younger children were starting to panic because everything was dark and there was no WORKING FLASHLIGHT anywhere, and so.. I grabbed the box of Crayola Crayons and yanked one out of the box. Then I quickly lit it and let some of the wax dribble onto a saucer.

After I did that I stuck the lit Crayola Crayon on the saucer and lo and behold, we had LIGHT. A short time later, the lights ended up coming back on, but thank heavens for my quick thinking and that box of Crayola Crayons. So make sure that you always have a supply of Crayola Crayons in your home, cause you never know when your lights are going to go out… Who knew they could be added to your emergency kit.
