Here in PA. It’s cold again or at least some days right now! When it is cold we love soup or anything comforting. My kids love eating chicken and dumplings. It’s so easy to make and simple too. No, I do not spend hours over top of a hot stove. I have a life. Well this recipe is long enough and gives you great tasting results. It can even be changed up a little to fit your own taste buds.
When it comes to cooking up almost anything we reply on our cookware to do it’s job. We also want the cookware to be easy to clean or better yet toss in the dishwasher and say we cleaned up dinner. Just don’t forget to press start on the dish washer. (guilty) Calphalon signature series is the best to use for just about anything. Comes in nonstick and stainless steel. They can be put into the dishwasher of course! Te pot I used in this recipe is one of my favorites. It’s the Calphalon Signature 5-qt dutch oven with cover. Calphalon Signature cookware gives you the flexibility that you want in the kitchen, with cookware to match your cooking style and perfect your culinary techniques.
Chicken and Dumpling Recipe!
You need
2 boneless skinless chicken breast
4-5 cups of chicken broth
1 1/2 cups of water
1 cup of chopped celery
1 cup of chopped onions
1 1/2 cups of chopped carrots
2-3 cups fo chopped potato
1 can of Campbell’s Cream of chicken soup
2 1/4 cups of Bisquick
3/4 cup of milk (Add more if needed)
spices to your taste if wanted (Salt and pepper)
First start by warming up your chicken broth and water in a pot. Add in your chicken breasts whole. Then add in your carrots, potatoes, onions, celery, and spices.
Let cook on a medium-high for 30-40 minutes. Be careful not to let it boil out of the pot.
While that is cooking, make your bisquick by combining the mix and milk together.
Mix until it’s a firm ball.
Can be a little doughy. Set aside. after the 30-40 minutes. Turn the oven down to a low-medium. Take out your chicken breast and let cool for a few minutes. Then get two forks and shred it apart.
Add chicken back into the pot. Now add in your can of cream of chicken. Stir until well combined.
Now get your dough and do about grape sized balls. Drop into your soup and let simmer for another 10 minutes. then you are ready to go. Serve up and let cool before taking that first scrumptious bite.
