Kids can sometimes become overwhelmed with classes, studying, homework, peer pressure and assignments. This is a normal occurrence especially around test time. I often tell my children that when most, if not all, their assignments are done, then it is time for them to take a break. My daughter recently had such an experience and when she did her assignments as she was supposed to do, I rewarded her with a little downtime. She was thrilled because this gave her an opportunity to play her new 3DS game called Yo-kai Watch.
In case you have not heard about Yo-kai Watch, it is a video game that is really popular in Japan. And do I mean really popular! It is now available in the United States. You can buy it wherever video games are sold, either online or in retail stores for $39.99!
I know that my daughter loves to be rewarded for her hard work and achievements, so she often turns to her video games to chill and unwind. The basis of the game is for you to befriend these mischievous creatures known as Yo-kai, once you find them to add them to your team. They, in turn, battle other Yo-kai. The game is played by reading the radar on the Yo-Kai Watch. Once you do that, you peer into the lens to see what is lurking around in the city.
There are several quests that excite those that play this game. Quests such as finding Yo-Kai, impressing them with your battle skills, collect items, and heal your Yo-Kai for bonus points. It also helps kids to think and initiate their strategy skills. So whether or not my daughter knows it or not, she is still learning while destressing and enjoying this new video game craze. Remember that it is only $39.99, and is for the Nintendo 2DS and the 3DS, including the 3DSXL.
I am really thrilled that she enjoys it so much. It was money well-spent.
