Single and Love to Mingle: Top Dating Apps for Those Who Travel Often
Some people travel in pairs; some visit exotic places as part of a tour group. There are many people, on the other hand, who prefer to travel alone and meet up with all sorts of new people along the way. Reliance on luck is not a reliable method of hooking up while away from home. For this and other reasons, dating apps for people who travel often are more popular than ever before. Here are a few of the best.
Miss Travel
Last summer, The Telegraph UK described a dating service for travelers called Miss Travel. Launched in the US two years prior, the modern matchmaker facilitates trip itinerary planning with complete strangers. Touted as “Tinder for Travellers,” the online dating service goes beyond dating services like Plenty of Fish. PoF helps people hook up in a certain geographic vicinity, but they don’t match people who want to make travel plans as a first date.
Fifties-style graphics create a sense of retro romance at the Miss Travel website. Women are admitted for free, while men pay a reasonable sign-up and membership fee. Begin by creating a user name and making a travel request. Specify where you want to go and when. Note how you want travel expenses to be split or if you prefer your date foot the bill for the entire trip. A generous member might offer to pay for the trip as a way of appealing to nice but impoverished dates with a desire to see the world.
Tripr
This happily named app offers users a way to get advice about locations from real locals. Tripr enables chat between like minded adults who want to meet someone fun. Create a profile and add a tasteful avatar of your choice. Input your upcoming travel destinations as well as any events or festivals you plan on attending. The service will let you know which other members are traveling to a location or if they are there now. The service advises both parties and, if they agree, they can start chatting right away.
Originally released on iOS, Tripr announced its evolution into the Android world in July 2015. Tripr touts itself as a seamless way to connect with like-minded travelers and festival-goers at home and abroad.

According to Forbes magazine, a preponderance of millennial men admit to hoping -and even expecting- to find their future mate while on vacation. Don’t believe it? Trusted third party researchers explain that one in 11 postgraduate millennials did, in fact, meet their dearly beloved in a zip code far away.
The # 1 reason why travelers use dating apps
Today’s generation of travelers is randier then most. Instead of relying on random, possibly dodgy encounters, savvy millennials improve their chances of meeting someone when they download dating apps. When planning dates, they leave little to chance when they consult the Weather Live Free app for Android for timely climate advice.
If your friends are meeting great people on vacation, ask them if they use a dating app to do so. If your friends know you’re looking to hook up, they might offer an even more personalized recommendation.
