We love our television time, especially now with the advancements made in high-definition and our friends with the cable companies and their offerings of all these packages!

For almost 30 years, Conservation International has worked to protect our natural environment. Place your beloved television on a Teak Media cabinet and know that 1% of all sales goes towards protecting forests around the world by a donation to Conservation International.

Not only would your purchase help forests around the globe with the 1% donation, it is made from eco-friendly reclaimed teak wood.

Now that your living room is situated such that you can enjoy viewing whatever your heart contents on top of your beautiful new media cabinet, it is time to consider other ways you can help the environment and save money at the same time.

Cleaning our homes is a chore most of us dread. Especially when faced with the nature of the chemicals we clean with in areas such as our bathrooms and kitchen. At times, we almost have to wear a mask!

Have you considered mixing your own cleaners using environmentally friendly ingredients? We all have vinegar and baking soda in our cabinets. With ingredients, such as these, and a few other staples, you can mix up your own eco-friendly cleaners and save money at the same time.

What items do I find myself filling up a recycling bin with more than any others? Plastic bottles. Bottled water, bottled sodas. We buy them by the case, drink them up and toss the empty bottles in our recycling bins.

We also love to shop for little additions to our home that add that extra flavor, that extra touch, that makes our house feel like a home. We love to shop for items such as bird feeders, holders for pens, and vases.

Do you have a flare for do-it-yourself projects? Take a few of those plastic bottles out of your recycling bin, save your money, and let your creative juices flow! You can turn an empty plastic bottle into a bird feeder, a pen holder, or a vase!

Our earth provides for us. We should have a sense of duty to do what is right for what provides. Not only for our current generation, for the generations that come. If you have children, I am willing to bet you put their needs first.

If we take care of the earth, the earth will take care of us.
