Easy & Original Ways To Celebrate Your Wedding Anniversary In Style

Time really does fly when you’re having fun, and when you are in a happy marriage with the distraction of children, time slips through your fingers like sand. As the days and weeks melt into each other, it’s very easy to forget when an anniversary is creeping around. It can get very samey, doing the same old anniversary staples of roses and dinner at a fancy restaurant.

It doesn’t matter whether you are celebrating your first, fifth or fifteenth wedding anniversary, you should be making it as special as possible. Your wedding was an occasion that brought you together as a committed couple, and each of those anniversaries are your chance to remember the previous year and all the things that you’ve done together. You’ve got to get original and think about the amazing gift hampers you could get for each other, the experiences that you could have together and how you want to spend the next year living. We’ve got some amazing and original ways you could celebrate your wedding anniversary, without breaking the bank while you do it!

  • Food For Thought. Fancy restaurants may be the norm, but why not commission a chef to recreate your wedding breakfast menu? If you don’t have the funds to hire a chef to cook for you personally, go out together to buy the wedding dinner ingredients and put the music on while you cook together. No back-seat cooking, though!
  • Revisit That First Time. Before you were wed, you had a first date that led to another and another to get you to those milestones. Take yourselves on a little time warp back to that first date. Did you go bowling? Did you head out to the theatre? Whatever you did back then, redo for your anniversary. Reminisce over the drink you spilled over him and remember the nerves from the first time.
  • Immortalise Your Love. Photoshoots are becoming more and more popular in recent years, with photographers and booths popping up all over the place. Why not pay for a shoot for yourselves? If you’ve got kids, get them involved, too.
  • Get Going. If you’ve got the cash this year, why not book a weekend away in a city you’ve both never visited before? You could discover somewhere new that you both love, have fun travelling and exploring together and get away from it all just the two of you.
  • Renew Your Vows. If your anniversary is a big one, and you only had a shotgun intimate wedding the first time around, why not throw a huge party and renew your vows this time? Get together all of your friends and family and reaffirm your love for each other all over again. If you don’t want a huge hurrah, take the closest around you abroad and do it on the beach. How romantic is that?

The gifts that you give each other for anniversaries will always mean something, but the experiences can often mean far more. Take the time to plan carefully this year!
