Summer Bucket List
Summer is fantastic. It’s the time to get outdoors and soak up some sun. We’re more likely to spend time together as a family when it’s hot, and we’re not cooped up indoors, and everything just seems easier. But, it can still be hard to think of things to do. Especially if you’ve got a long school holiday to contend with. Everyone wants to be outside enjoying themselves, but there’s only so many times that you can visit the same park before you all start to get a little bored. We often spend much of autumn saying things like “oh I wish we’d gone out more when it was hot”. So, here’s a summer bucket list to give you some ideas and help you to make the most of your summer.
Get a Really Great Swimsuit
Instagram and other social media feeds are currently filled with “bikini body ready” pictures. As a mom, feeling bikini ready is always tough. Even if you’ve lost weight and gotten back into shape, your body will have changed, and it can be hard to feel confident. But, that’s not the example we want to set our kids. We don’t want them to see us worrying about our weight and what other people think. We want to teach them to be proud of who they are. So, we need to set the example.
The best way to do this is to focus on your swimsuit instead of your body. Go out and buy a really great costume. One that flatters your body shape, gives you all of the support you need and makes you feel fantastic.
Do Something Wild
When we’re young many of us dream of skydiving or bungee jumping. All the crazy things that we’ll do when we’re older. Then life and fears get in the way, and we never do them. Make this summer the year you check out some VIRGIN EXPERIENCE DAYS VOUCHER CODES and challenge yourself to do something really wild that will make your younger self sequel with delight.
Get BBQing
Everyone loves a BBQ, but most of us stick to burgers, sausages and chicken drumsticks. Don’t. With the right tools you can make everything from a pizza to a paella on your BBQ. Check out some fantastic BBQ recipes and start experimenting with what you can create. You could also have a go at some fantastic summer cocktails while you are at it.
Hit a Waterpark
Waterparks are great fun. You can spend the whole day lazing by the pools and tackling adrenaline pumping slides. Find your closest park or head to one of the world’s best waterparks for the ultimate summer day out.
Go on a Scavenger Hunt
A scavenger hunt is a fantastic family activity at any time of the year. It’s a great way to get everyone outdoors, talking and exploring and it doesn’t have to cost you a penny. Have a look at some summer scavenger hunt ideas online or write a list of some of the things in your local area that you can only find in summer. Just make sure an ice cream sundae is one of the things you are searching for.
