Does HGH Slow Aging?

All opinions are mine and mine alone.

Does HGH Slow Aging?

The growth hormone is responsible for driving physical growth during childhood and for the formation of tissues and organs for the rest of your life. It’s generated by the pituitary gland, which is a tiny pea-sized organ that’s located at the base of the human brain.

However, the pituitary gland starts producing less and less of the growth hormone as we approach middle age.

As a result, a synthetic human growth hormone (HGH) has been developed to compensate for this natural waning of the growth hormone and to offset the effects of aging, such as a loss of bone or muscle mass.

A lot of people are cynical about the so-called touted benefits of HGH, which is completely natural when you consider that there isn’t a lot of evidence to support these claims. However, many experts vouch for the ability of HGH to fight some of the most common aging signs and disorders.

Do Adults Need Human Growth Hormone?

Yes, there are some adults who may suffer from a deficiency of the growth hormone, which declines at a faster rate than normal. Such individuals usually get an HGH prescription from their physician.

One of the causes of growth hormone deficiency is the presence of a benign tumor on the pituitary gland, a condition which is known as pituitary adenoma. Treating the adenoma with radiotherapy or surgery can also worsen the HGH deficiency.

Human growth hormone injections can help deficient adults to experience:

  • Increased muscle mass
  • Improved exercise capacity
  • Higher bone density
  • A reduction in body fat

Human growth hormone has also been found to help HIV/AIDS sufferers to recover from muscle wasting.

What Can Human Growth Hormone Do for Healthy Adults?

There’s currently a limited number of studies available that show the effectiveness of HGH on healthy adults. However, the available research suggests that the human growth hormone has the ability to cut body fat while increasing muscle mass, but this doesn’t necessarily increase one’s strength.

The Risks of Taking HGH When You Don’t Need It?

Healthy adults taking human growth hormone are also susceptible to experiencing side effects such as:

  • Muscle pain
  • Joint pain
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Swollen arms and legs
  • Increased insulin resistance

Men taking HGH might even start developing a larger breast tissue due to a condition known as gynecomastia.

Does the Human Growth Hormone Come in Pill Form?

HGH is typically administered via injection when prescribed by a qualified physician, but it doesn’t come in pill form in this case. There are some websites which sell it as a pill while claiming that it has the same benefits as the injection.

Of course, there’s no way to prove the validity of these claims or the claims made by HGH-infused homeopathic remedies for that matter.

Conclusion

If you’re at that point in your life where signs of aging are starting to be an issue, you should consult with your physician about valid treatments. Also, adopting healthy lifestyle habits such as eating healthy foods and moving a lot can go a long way in slowing down the clock and increasing your confidence as you age.

Plus, it has been found that taking HGH can increase your risk of developing conditions like cancer, heart disease and diabetes to name but a few.

Most of the side-effects associated with HGH tend to occur in adults rather than younger individuals and there isn’t enough research to show whether these side-effects get worse or better over time.
