Interesting Baby Shower Games That Won’t Bore Your Guests

Playing baby-related games is a necessary part of baby showers. Yes, it’s conventional and predictable, but it’s part of the tradition to let guests share in on the excitement of the new baby. There are many games you can play in baby showers, but plenty of them are either too dull or too embarrassing for adults to play. If you want to inject some fun in your baby shower, here are some interesting baby shower games that won’t bore your guests.

 Don’t Say “Baby”

This is a simple but challenging game to play, considering the occasion. Don’t Say “Baby” is basically what the name of the games suggests. You aren’t allowed to say the word baby for the duration of the baby shower.

For this game, you will need a badge or pin for all the guests. Every time someone catches another guest say “baby”, they can take the persons badge or pin. The “offender” will get a penalty, and the winner at the end— the person with the most number of badges— will receive a prize.

 The Price Is Right!

Parenthood is a huge responsibility, and providing needs for their child is one of the most important thing a parent has to do. Let the your guests experience a portion of parenthood with a game of The Price Is Right baby shower edition.

The rules are simple. Several baby-related items and seperate price tags are displayed for the guest to peruse. After they have a look at each item, the guest will put a price on every item, using the given tags. You can do this game in groups, and the group with the most number of right guesses wins and receives a price.

 Dirty Diapers

Dirty diapers are part and parcel of raising a tiny human being, who doesn’t yet have control of their bodily functions. Share this joy and grossness of this particular aspect of parenthood by playing a game of Dirty Diapers.

For this game, you need several (clean) diapers and melted chocolate of different brands.  You smear the chocolate in the diapers and take note of which brand is in which diaper. Participants will do a taste testing and guess what kind of chocolate is in the diaper. The winner, the one with the most correct guesses, can get chocolate bars..

Don’t worry about using the diapers for the new baby. You’re sure to receive a lot from the guest if you enclose diaper raffle tickets inside your invitation cards. This also avoids the dilemma of receiving redundant presents.

Baby Shower Bingo

An oldie but a goodie, bingo is a popular game played using number cards and balls with numbers on them. But for baby shower bingo, you can write baby-related things on the cards instead of numbers.

You can also ask the participants to write the names of baby-related items on an empty bingo card and on strips of paper. After the guests are done writing,  collect the strips of paper and put them in the box. Then you can start the game by drawing names of baby-related items that guests wrote. The first person who complete a whole row (vertically, horizontally, or diagonally) and yells “Bingo!” wins the game and receives a prize.

Who’s That Baby?

“Who’s That Baby?” is a game that tests how well guests know and recognize each other. But before you can play this game, you need to prepare ahead of time by asking the guests to send their baby pictures days before the event.

Once you have all the baby pictures, there should be no problem playing the game. The goal of the game is to guess the baby in the picture. There’s really no winner in this game, but it would be mighty fun to see everyone’s faces when they were babies.

 Final Word

Baby showers wouldn’t be fun without games. Since it’s a happy occasion, it should be celebrated with smiles and laughters. Games aren’t just for entertaining people. Playing games together can bring you closer and help you understand each other better. Also, the task of raising another human can be extremely daunting for the parents-to-be, but having a fun and exciting baby shower and seeing all your family and friends being happy for you can ease the pressure.
