Comedy doesn’t have to be crude to be funny. Many very popular clean comedians please any audience. Many of these clean comedians on the circuit are even Christian comedians and are more than willing to perform live in front of your congregation. Check out this list of diverse Christian comedians.
Brian Regan
A staple in the clean comedian circuit, Brian Regan is famous for his exaggerated facial expression and self-deprecation. Not only is he a favorite for churches, but he is widely popular among the general public. Many more brash comedians, such as Patton Oswalt, called Regan, “the best stand-up comedian working today.”
Jim Gaffigan
A self-proclaimed “man-baby,” Jim Gaffigan is popularly known for his “hot pockets” routine. He typically jokes about his everyday life, his five kids, and living in a two-bedroom apartment in New York. Gaffigan is famous for his voice impressions and facial expressions. He has even hosted his own TV show.
Jeff Allen
After over forty years as a stand-up comedian, Allen is gold on the clean comedian circuit. He is known for having coined the term “happy wife, happy life.” He typically jokes about marriage counseling and raising kids, as well as having grown up in the 50s and 60s.
Henry Cho
Of Christian descent, this Tennessee-born comedian is a self-proclaimed “red-neck” with a Southern accent. Henry Cho spent two years as host to NBC’s “Friday Night Videos,” had guest roles on network sitcoms, and even participated in the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with Jeff Foxworthy. He is known for his humorous anecdotes and conversational tone.
Jeff Foxworthy
Another Blue Collar Comedy Tour comedian, Jeff Foxworthy is known for his redneck jokes. He also was host to the TV game show, “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader”. He’s a Grammy Award nominee and the author of twenty-six books.
Anjelah Johnson
Previously an Oakland Raiders cheerleader and cast member for the sketch comedy series, MADTV, Johnson is a popular clean female comedian. She is known for her edgy material while staying clean. She talks about everything from her years as a cheerleader to her involvement in the church.
Ryan Hamilton
Hamilton is an up-and-coming Christian comedian. He was named one of the Rolling Stone’s “Five Comedians to Watch” in 2012. He jokes light-heartedly about himself and is very witty. He even currently has a special called “Happy Face” on Netflix.
Jenna Kim Jones
Another up-and-coming Christian comedian, Jones had interned at The Martha Stewart Show and The Late Show with David Letterman while attending NYU earning her Bachelor of Arts in Producing and Writing for Television. She is most well known for her twice-weekly podcast, #SorryNotSorry with Jenna Kim Jones.
Matt Jernigan
This Christian comedian is known for incorporating songs into his routines. He does a lot of beatboxing. But, he’s famous for creating parodies of popular music by artists like Justin Beiber, Britany Spears, Lady Gaga, and Elvis Presley.
