Print Documents Anywhere with a Mobile Printer

Imagine you have a very important document to print and you’re strapped for time. I’d like to think we’ve all been there at some point for the school, work, or personal reasons. The stress of having to find a printer and running frantically through the halls or calling up friends, in the desperate hope someone will end up having a functioning one should yours run out of ink at the worst possible time, is enough to make people’s hair fall out of their heads.

With the state technology is in today, you might have thought someone would have figured out a way around this. The simple answer is that you’re correct. In an era of mobile phones, mobile computers, even mobile power banks, we now have mobile printers. It’s only the logical continuation of the mobile trend. After having a computer we can take anywhere for so long, it’s about time we made printers we can take anywhere as well. In fact, there are now mobile scanners, devices that can read what has been scanned, and printers. The entire copying process can now be done on the fly from anywhere in the world, provided everything is adequately charged.

If this is news to you, iPad printers on Hereon should be one of your first stops in looking at mobile-enabled printers.

With nearly everyone owning a mobile device of some kind, it simply doesn’t make sense for manufacturers to not have mobile-friendly printers.

The ability to print documents off of your mobile device has been standard in iOS devices for some time now, going by the name AirPrint. It comes integrated into the Safari, Mail, and Photos applications. The only requirements for your mobile printing experience to go well on iOS are that the printer is WiFi-enabled, AirPrint-enabled, and of course, both devices are fully charged.

Portable printers are best-suited for those who will infrequently print documents while constantly moving around such as business people or people on vacation. The only drawback of mobile printers is they aren’t very suitable for extremely large workloads. Since they are smaller than a full-sized printer to promote portability, some user maintenance is required to keep them in working order. They must be cleaned on a semi-frequent basis to stop any jams or clogs from occurring, and typically require at least an extra ink cartridge or two on hand, since they can be quite small on some models.

For a few hundred dollars, you could eliminate your need to spend time in crowded computer labs just for a quick print job and to get it done yourself. Universities and workplaces often limit the number of pages you’re able to print. This makes the portable printer a sound investment if you’d like to keep your larger jobs outsourced when you have time to print them while keeping the smaller one around, in case of an accidental coffee spill or a lapse in memory.

Personally, I’m just happy we now have the ability to print anything from anywhere with only a few button presses, as opposed to being forced to wrangle with dusty printers in old computer labs that barely get the job done issue-free.
