The Things Girls with Great Skin Always Do

All opinions are mine and mine alone.

Women do not achieve a flawless complexion by ignoring their skin; it takes time and effort for it always to be great looking.  If you want your skin to be one to be proud of, here are a few tips to help you on your way.

Always Clean Your Makeup Off Before Bed

It should not matter how tired you are you should always clean your makeup off before you go to bed if you want to look good in the morning. It can make a big difference to how your skin looks the next day, as the makeup can clog your pores and make your skin look lifeless. You should also be aware that makeup could prevent the cells you should shed every day from leaving your face. Instead, it will make them cling to the skin and can cause infections and irritations on your skin’s surface.

To make the job easier, instead of trying to wash it off when you are half asleep, use a gentle cleanser to wipe it away.

Take special care with removing your eye makeup. The skin around your eyes is very delicate and easily damaged. If you treat it too roughly when taking your makeup off you can cause the skin to stretch and fine line wrinkles to appear.

Hydrate You And Your Skin

You should be drinking plenty of water to keep your body and skin hydrated. You do not have to wait until you are thirsty to have a drink, take a glass regularly throughout the day. A face cream with hyaluronic acid in could help as well.  Are you wondering ‘What is Hyaluronic Acid?’. A lot of people do because they have never heard of it, but it is a huge aid to beauty regimes and will help to keep your skin hydrated.

It is found in several places within our body but notably in our skin where it helps to protect us from the damage that can be caused by the sun and pollutants. It will also help any blemishes to heal more quickly. You can buy it as creams, gels, powders, injections or supplements and whichever you opt for, you will find that it will hydrate your skin and help to reduce the effects of aging, such as wrinkles.

Use Sunscreen Every day

You should be applying sunscreen as part of your daily morning routine. You do not need to be in the sun for hours for it to cause damage. A 5-minute walk to the office every day can cause brown spots to start to appear. They may not be dangerous but they are unsightly.

It does not matter what season it is, you should always apply some sun cream before you apply your makeup.

Always Have A Clean Pillowcase On Your Bed

Every time you go to bed you will leave dead skin cells, traces of makeup, saliva, and bits of hair on your pillow. If you allow these to build up they will start to clog the pores of your face and you will find that keeping your glow becomes harder to achieve.

Flip your pillow every couple of nights and put a clean pillowcase on at least once a week.

Avoid Tanning Beds

Using tanning beds can do irreversible damage to your skin. Your risk of skin cancer increases and gets higher each time you lie on one. They accelerate the aging process of our skin, and women who want to have great skin should always avoid using them.

Don’t Pick That Pimple

If you have a pimple, a blemish or a blackhead, leave it alone.  Messing with it is likely to force the bacteria further into your skin and this will delay the healing process.  If it is really obvious hold an ice cube on it at 20-second intervals for just a few minutes as this will reduce any swelling.  Cover it as much as you can with a concealer, but otherwise, leave it to heal on its own.

Exercise For A Good Skin

People do not always associate exercise with a good skin. However, it does not matter what gender or age you are your skin will benefit from you being active.

Taking a walk, having a workout at the gym or playing a sport can all leave you with a healthy glow. But there is more to it than that. Exercise can help to lower the levels of the stress hormone cortisol, which can contribute to skin aging and breakouts.

Of course, we all know that exercise is good for the rest of our body, that it can help prevent some medical conditions and assist with mental health problems, but it can also help you to keep your skin in a better condition too.

Stop Binging On Junk Food

An occasional junk food treat will not do too much harm, but eating them all the time is not good at all. Carbs are not good for the skin and junk foods tend to be full of them. Sugar, white bread, pasta, cake, biscuits, soda drinks, and candy should all be removed from your diet as much as possible. They have all been linked to heart diseases, diabetes, some cancers and degradation of the skin.

Instead, you should eat a well-balanced diet that includes proteins, vitamins, and nutrients. Things such as fruits, vegetables, nits oily fish and salads are all good, If you can avoid processed foods of any sort you will see the benefit in your skin, as well as feeling more energetic and alert.

Make Sure You Have Enough Sleep

Having enough sleep is vital for a healthy body, a healthy mind, and healthy skin. A lack of sleep can be the cause of depression, stress, and anxiety. Your face will become drawn looking and your skin will suffer. A deep sleep allows them all to repair from the hassles of the day and prepares them ready for the next.

When you see people who look younger than they are as they do not have many wrinkles and their skin is glowing, just remember that they have to work hard to appear like that, it does not happen on its own.
