Do’s And Don’ts of Happy Hours to Remember

During your tenure at your office, you will find that you are a pro in starting a friendly conversation. But after the working period, you will now have to deal with a whole new world. Whether it’s the happy hour or a holiday party, hanging out with your officemates requires a strategy.

As you attend a party, you step into a new opportunity to unleash the extrovert version of you. Indeed, keeping things professional is essential. However, it is also a great opportunity to create linkages. It is best to get to know more about your coworkers. Thus, here are the do’s and don’ts during happy hours that you must remember:

Grow your Office Social Connections

You are not doing any good by just sticking to one or two office acquaintances. As such, during the office happy hours at the lower plenty beer garden Victoria, grab this opportunity to get to know your officemates. Ask questions on someone who you don’t have lunch with on a regular basis.

Have a game plan in your mind so you will know who to talk to during the event. By being a detective, you can ask appropriate questions about this type of person. Check their social media profiles and learn a few things about them.

Don’t Act Differently During the Night out

If you are in the office, you put on a different face. After all, you don’t want to treat your bosses like your best friends.

But as soon as the drinks are flowing, you may be urged to show your fun side. However, this is not the best idea always.

Keep your composure so you will never have to worry about putting your game face on once again on Monday. Your friends will not forget about your sense of humor once you are drunk. But of course, this is not the image you want to project when your boss is present during the night out.

Monitor your Alcohol Consumption

There is nothing wrong with drinking a glass of wine with your boss. But you must keep your attitude during the night out. If the beer and margarita are tempting you, make sure that you control yourself. Limit your drinks into one to two drinks only.

Don’t Join in Office Gossip

During work, it’s easy to activate your corporate attitude. But during a social gathering, it is harder to avoid the gossips. Thus, you can listen politely but decide not to participate in the gossip. If there is a sudden change of topic, just excuse yourself out of the conversation.

Instead of ranting to your coworkers, save all your drama to your friends or relatives who are far from the office.

Keep a Light Conversation

It is ideal to scheme up some appropriate conversation starters before the night out at lower plenty beer garden Victoria. During the event, there are things that you should not mention to your officemates.

Don’t talk about politics, health issues, and your insecurities. These things can bring negativity during the happy event.

Bring something positive on the event like the amazing places you’ve been last weekend. It is relatable and it gives an opportunity for people to chat without any pauses.
