Hotel pricing in Montego Bay is far more affordable than you would imagine. One of the most popular places for families to spend their vacation time is the Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay. This is an all-inclusive resort that has designated activities for kids and adults, including a beach volleyball court, pools, a spa and even a casino for adult-only time. You could spend most of your time on the island at the resort taking advantage of all of the amenities it offers to stretch your budget or venture out to some of the other options we found.
Find Natural Wonders to Explore
Jamaica has plenty of natural wonders that are sure to peak your family’s interest. Consider Dunns River Falls, a magnificent waterfall with activities you can do along the way. Or pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the ambiance of the falls right next to the Caribbean Sea. The Marine Park Montego Bay has a variety of sea life, including corals that are sure to entertain kids of all ages. Doctor’s Cave Beach is nearby and is a great spot for just relaxing and enjoying the therapeutic sights and sounds.
Tour the Famous Rose Hall
Just a few minutes from Montego Bay, lies Rose Hall, a plantation built in the Eighteenth Century. In addition to the beautifully manicured grounds, you’ll find beach access, world renowned golf courses and historic homes just waiting to be explored. Tours of the Rose Hall Great House are offered daily, including a nighttime ghost tour featuring the White Witch. Tours are only $20-$25 per person and perfect for families traveling in a large group.
Commune with Nature
The Rocklands Bird Sanctuary has been a top attraction in Montego Bay for over 55 years. Situated 40-minutes outside of Montego Bay, this idyllic little find should be on every tourist’s short list. Not only can you observe birds in their natural habitat, but you can also feed hummingbirds by hand. Rocklands Bird Sanctuary provides half-day tours at low prices, with many specials offered throughout the year. Situated around a quaint cottage and nestled in a beautiful garden setting, it’s a peaceful and almost magical experience. Though this is great for older children, the sanctuary recommends it only for children over the age of 6, due to the sensitive nature of the birds.
