Making Your Car More ‘You’

All opinions are mine and mine alone.

Cars are almost the most fun thing on the planet. Not only do they get you from A to B, but they can open up the whole world to you. You can take long road trips, late-night drives, and those slow ones in the snow on the way to a festive meal. Over time our cars can become a part of us, and they will match our personalities. But how can you make them even more you?

Scent

You, your car, and your home will all have a particular smell. When we first get into a new car, they have a distinct smell. The new leather or freshly stitched upholstery. The plastic smell in the air. And second-hand cars smell like their previous owner. So to get your vehicle smelling more you, pick up some car fresheners. Where once upon a time you could only have pine or lemon, you can now have anything from black coconut to blueberry jelly bean. And they look much cooler now too!

Plates

The quickest way to make you and your car even more as one is to get some personalised car number plates. You can have pretty much anything within the law, your name, your dog’s name, a nickname… there are endless possibilities! So play around with some options and take the plunge.

Wrap

If you want to go for something extra cool, you can have your car wrapped. Customs matte green, stripes, heck you can have polka dots if you really want. This will be sure to make your car very unique and will be synonymous with you in no time at all. You can choose to wrap different panels if you really want to.

Seats

Depending on the rest of your car you might decide to switch out your current chairs for some racing chairs. They cup your body and are very padded, but they are too low for many drivers. However, if that’s not your idea of comfort you can get a lumbar support, fluffy covers or even the beaded back massaging attachments,

Gear Stick

It is essential that if you make any changes to the gear stick, that you make sure it is legal and safe. You can get a cover to put over the grip of the gear stick, or you might choose to replace it completely. We’ve all dreamed about driving a big chevy mustang with a skull head for a gear stick – perhaps now is your chance to get started on making it a reality.

When you are driving your car, you want to be able to feel comfortable – even more so if you are the kind of person that takes a long journey alone. Knowing where everything is, the familiar smell,  and a seat that you could relax into for hours. If you really want to get personal, name your car.

It is important to remember when you make changes that they are legal and your car is still roadworthy.
