Top 4 Bottled Water Brands

If, like us, you like to stay hydrated, you may already know that not all bottled waters are created equal. Those of us who drink plenty of the nectar always tend to have a preferred brand. We have all had that argument with a non-water drinker, “all water tastes the same.” But we know they are wrong.

Unfortunately, some bottled water is actually worse for you than tap water, and don’t even get me started on “flavored vitamin water.” That stuff cannot be trusted. There is a reason there is a massive Lacroix water lawsuit.

We care so much about the topic that we have decided to write a list of our favorite 4 when it comes to bottled water.

The things we looked at were:

Taste

Different water has a different flavor depending on several factors like pH levels and source of origin. We tested taste at room temperature, and at a chilled state, people forget the importance of their water tasting good in both scenarios. Sometimes we have to take our water with us, and it may not remain chilled.

pH balance

We want our water to be as close to pH7 as possible, and this makes it neutral. In a world full of acidic carbonated drinks, a neutral drink is a blessing for our teeth and insides. We also don’t like this new wave of self-promoted alkaline water, which claims to give you health benefits. We have not seen any solid research or proof this is the case, so for now, we aren’t sold on the whole alkaline water idea.

Packaging

We stay clear of any plastic bottles made from plastics that give off harmful chemicals when they degrade. That meant bottles made from the food grade plastic PET scored highly. PET is safe, cheap, and recyclable.

So without further ado, these are our four favorite waters.

 EVIAN

We love Evian’s mineral taste qualities. Bottled in Europe, you can really taste the robust flavor. Because it is a mineral water, it takes on the taste qualities of the minerals and rock that it passes through before reaching the source of bottling.

The packaging is nice and simple, easy to hold and pack and tastes great.

Just Water

This is a winner in more than one category. As well as tasting absolutely fantastic and being backed by celebrities like Will Smith, this is also the most eco-friendly bottle out there. It comes in a carton instead of a plastic bottle and is 100 percent recyclable. It is slightly alkaline and has good levels of electrolytes, which make it a refreshing blend.

Crystal Geyser

This is our winner for the best cheap bottle of water. With a great electrolyte level and balanced acidity, it has an extremely refreshing mouthfeel. The only downside is that this water comes in pretty awful flimsy packaging, but it’s recyclable, which is great for such a low-cost water. For a budget brand, it scored much higher than some “better” brands like Dasani and Aquafina.
