Your choice of gin is important, as it is the main ingredient. Why not make some fun of this and take a gin tour? You can try different gins and see how it is made! Nonetheless, it’s up to you what gin you use. Overall it is advisable to select a gin that is balanced, rooty and citrusy.
How do you make the perfect Gin & Tonic?
You need to begin by cutting the lime into wedges. However, before you do this it is always a good idea to roll the lime on the chopping board with the palm of your hand. This will release the juices. Once you have done this, cut the lime into eight wedges.
Take one of the wedges and squeeze the juice into the glass. Once the juice has been released you can drop the lime wedge into the glass.
Next, you need to add a double measure, i.e. 50 ml, of your chosen gin.
Once you have done this, fill the glass to the top with ice cubes. Use the long spoon to stir everything for a few seconds.
After you have done this, take the tonic water and pour approximately 100 ml into the glass.
Finish off by adding a second wedge of lime. If the glass is not full, top it up with more ice.
If you have managed to finish this post without dashing off to enjoy a tasty Gin & Tonic, I’m impressed! There is no denying that this has been one of the most popular drinks for many years now. It is not hard to see why. After all, they say simple is best, right?
