How much should I drink water per day  

Water is one of the most crucial substances for human body and environment. It is important to drink water every day – human is made up of 60 % of water, so it is crucial to replenish your stores every day.We need water not only for drinking, but for other life purposes as well. For instance, bathing, cooking, cleaning and washing are needs that are not possible without water. The amount of water that has to be consumed per day depends on various important factors. For example, physical activity level, age, health-related issues and etc. Furthermore, water has a lot of substances that are relevant for our bodies to function well. Calcium, magnesium, sodium or zinc are inherent when talking about our drinking water. These substances should be consumed daily, so there are answers how the water should be included in our daily routine.  

Benefits of drinking water 

Our drinking water does a lot of good work for our bodies. It keeps our mental and physical health in a good condition and maintains it. For example, your sleep, mood and depression problems might be softened by the help of water as well. Water keeps our joints working, maintains healthy digestion and cardiovascular health. Alsoit plays a major role while promoting our skin healthy and hydrated. Water removes toxins from our organisms too  that is why this most natural liquid is a needed substance while stopping aging and degeneration of cells.   

In addition, water influence of stopping your aging affects your physical look as well. Skin is largest organ in a human body, so it needs a lot of stores to replenish and maintain its look. Besides, water can help you to eat less if you are on a diet. In fact, it provides hydration without unwanted calories.

A lot of spheres in a life of a human requires big resources of water. Such spheres as agricultural, recreational, environmental and industrial contains a lot of activities that includes water. Water carries oxygen, so it can be really useful for the cells of ours. Also, the function of oxygen is to regulate a proper work of the brain. Besides, water is able to perform as an absorbtion for the minerals and vitamins. That maintains our organs and all the functions of the organism healthy.

Burning fat while regularly drinking water can be a great posibility to face such problem. Drinking water may increase metabolic rate for healthy women and men. Water reduces appetite as well. When you drink water, you  may feel that you are already filled up. Also, if you drink cold water, the problem may be solved even faster. 

 Hydration for children and adults 

Our organism and system of it needs water to function well – 60 percent of your body is made of water. Such criterias as activity level, age, sex can help you to manage a proper amount of the water that has to be consumed per day.  

Different amount of water varies between children and adults as well. Talking about adults, women should drink around 9 cups per day; for men it‘s 13 cupsAlso, it is important to know that fruits and vegetables can contain a lot of water as well, so their amount of liquid should be included too. For example, watermelons contain even 93 percent of water!  

Tip for adults who are fasting or who are on a military diet: you can compensate low food intake by drinking more water with a lot of minerals which you can add by remineralizing drinking water.  

Variations for kids depends on their age. For instance, water that should be consumed per day for the kids that are between 4 and 8 years old suppose to be 5 cups of water per day. If a kid is between 9 and 13 years old, 8 cups should be a proper amount that has to be consumed per day. Teenagers that are between 14 and 18 years old should drink 10 cups of water per day.

There are a few steps that will help you to choose a proper amount of water that has to be consumed per day based on your weight: 

  1. Take your weight in pounds; 
  1. Devide your weight by 2.2; 
  1. Multiply the number depending on your age: 

3.1. If you are younger than 30, multiply the number by 40; 

3.2. If you are between 30 and 55, multiply it by 35; 

3.3. If you are older than 55, multiply the number by 30. 

  1. The sum that you get should be devided by 28.3.
  2. The number you get shows the amount of ounces that has to be consumed per day according your weight.
  3. If you would like to get the number in cups, devide the number of ounces by 8.

 Exceptions that influence water needs 

There are some exceptions that can influence water intake per day. Water intake amounts should be modified according overall health, activity level and so on. For instance, if you exercise, you should drink water before, during and after the exercise. It is important to replenish your stores and regain the minerals that you have lost through the sweat. In order to get the minerals and water back, you need to drink some fresh and cold water. Furthermore, such environment conditions as heat, can reduce the liquid amount of the body, so you need to consume fluids during the humid and and hot wheather as well.  

On the other hand, if you are sick –  it is also a sign that water intake has to be increased. For instance, fever, bladder infections, vomitting and other illnessess require bigger amounts of water than usual. It is important to mention that you need to consult with your doctor everytime, because every sickness can be different and require different actions as well. For instance, women who breast-feed should drink around 13 cups per day; pregnant women should consume around 10 cups per day too.

Water can be a good energy and health source for you and your life quality. People‘s sex, age, activity or overall health can influence the amounts of water that have to taken per day. Also, such exceptions as pregnancy, health conditions or environmetal issues can affect recommended amounts. Water keeps our organs safe.
