3 Stunning Fairytale Wedding Destinations

From the white wedding dress and the tiniest, most intricate details to the dream fairytale location, every little girl dreams about her own fairytale wedding. Luckily, today’s modern brides have a vast selection of dreamy locales fit for any royal wedding at their fingertips. Whether you’re dreaming of an old-world Italian Renaissance-style or prefer a setting inspired by a lush tropical oasis, romance abounds at these three fairytale wedding locations.

1. James Leary Flood Mansion, San Francisco, California

Northern California brides certainly have their choice of beautiful wedding sites from which to choose, but the James Leary Flood Mansion is one of the city’s best. Located in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, this elegant 1915 Italian Renaissance-style mansion is adorned with painted murals and stunning ornate ceilings.

Not to mention, its Grand Hall offers views of the iconic San Francisco Bridge. The James Leary Flood Mansion also boasts sweeping city views, which offer a perfect backdrop for wedding portraits for you and your fiance.

Pro Tip: Connect with your wedding photographer prior to your wedding and create a checklist of must-have shots from the big day, including dreamy golden hour shots with the city skyline in the background.

2. Hammond Castle, Gloucester, Massachusetts

This picturesque, storybook setting is positioned on the Atlantic coastline and offers unbeatable ocean views. Designed by inventor John Hammond, Hammond Castle features breathtaking vaulted ceilings, a beautiful indoor sanctuary decorated with stained glass windows and a fairytale-like courtyard terrace.

All of this was modeled after what would eventually become the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, a romantic gift from the inventor to his wife that was originally built in the 1920s.

Staying true to a storybook theme, wedding guests enter through a drawbridge. Additionally, Hammond Castle features no shortage of medieval regalia, including decorative sconces with candles and banners hanging from the ceiling in the dining hall.

Pro Tip:Add lush greenery to your tablespace. Eucalyptus is a great option and is poised to last for long periods of time without wilting. Additionally, include clear, stout glass candle holders throughout to finish the decorative tabletop. This will set the tone for a moody ambiance suited for your medieval venue. And it will also give wedding guests the opportunity to have a conversation with others at their table.

3. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Miami, Florida

Positioned near the warm waters of beautiful Biscayne Bay and just minutes from the buzz of downtown Miami, South Florida’s Vizcaya Museum harkens back to the days of the old world, where life moved a little bit slower. The Italian villa-style estate features dazzling coral staircases, grand entryways fit for a royal entrance on your wedding day, and 10 acres of beautiful, manicured gardens peppered with tropical plants and lush green foliage. The garden even has its own maze to explore.

Pro Tip: Draw inspiration from your wedding venue when putting together your bridal party invitations and wedding save-the-dates. Choose a series of complementing colors and hues that you might see at your venue or opt for a theme you mind find at your locale, such as tropical florals, and apply it to your invitations to tie together all the little details.
