5 tricks to exercise regularly at your house

We all know that it’s hard to find the motivation to workout sometimes -well- a lot of the time. In between everything else going on in our lives, the gym just doesn’t seem to be quite up there priority-wise.

That’s why so many more people are now opting for home workouts, rather than heading to the gym. It’s easy to see the benefits really – there’s less time spent traveling, no one else is around to see you (except maybe the dog) and there’s an abundance of apps and social media accounts out there to show you exactly what to do.

Except, even with home workouts you can fall off the bandwagon. There’s always another way to spend your time, right?

If this sounds like you, then we’ve compiled the perfect list of tricks to help you out and get you moving.

Here are 5 tricks to exercise regularly at your house.

Have a caffeine boost

Caffeine has been proven to help athletes run faster and help weightlifters to lift more. In fact, there’s a whole range of research articles out there that show caffeine can help everyone from golfers to footballers.

So with that in mind, it’s evident that having a small black coffee before a workout could go a long way towards boosting your performance.

It is well known that the stimulant increases alertness, focus, and endurance.

A while back, we found the perfect source to get our caffeine kick. Complete Nutrition’s protein coffee is the ultimate way to wake up your body while nourishing it with the protein it needs.

Containing an impressive 15 grams of protein, this blend will help your muscles to grow and recover while giving you that perfect boost to work out again.

There are so many benefits to drinking protein coffee.

Pick a good playlist

You can’t rely on the gym to play motivational songs for you anymore, so it’s time for you to start picking your own. Chances are that you already have a workout playlist, but if you don’t, you’ll be able to find plenty of inspiration to create one.

Don’t forget that it isn’t all about those heavy 160bpm tracks. Having slower music ready to get you warmed up will be much more effective, as you won’t rush into your workout and cause injury.

Then, feel free to go all out and smash your arm, leg day, whatever day!

Music works wonders for the brain, so playing your favorite upbeat tracks is the best way to get yourself ready and raring to go for an epic workout.

Plus, being at home means you can blast those tunes as loud as you need to get you through (we mean, unless you live in a condo).

Buy a great water bottle

Even though you’re at home, it doesn’t quite feel right drinking water out of a glass, does it? And when you’re running, jumping and lunging all around your kitchen, it’s good to know you have a bottle that isn’t going to spill its contents everywhere if you accidentally knock it over while squatting.

The Kool8 water bottle is made out of industrial standard stainless steel and is the absolute perfect all-round bottle if you’re looking to reduce your plastic use.

This bottle will also keep your water freezing cold for as long as 24 hours, although we’re certain you won’t be doing star jumps for that long!

It will keep your tea warm for up to 12 hours too, which is perfect for the caffeine boost we were discussing earlier.

We do admit, this bottle looks so good that you may just be tempted to hit the gym to show it off…

Use social media

Now, we don’t exactly mean scroll Facebook while you’re sprinting up and down your hall. But, social media is the absolute perfect way to get inspiration for your workouts that will leave you confident with what you’re doing and much more interested as you’ll be continuously mixing things up.

Use Instagram and YouTube to take a look at fitness accounts and make note of their workout patterns.

Try writing points down on the notes page of your phone so you always have a reminder with you and you’re good to go.

Not only will this keep things interesting, but it will ensure you’re using the correct form to avoid injury. Look out for trainers who come recommended and have certifications to back up their advice and workout plans.

This way you can be sure that you can trust them for a safe yet intense workout.

Don’t rush into buying all the equipment

All the gear and no idea, right? There’s no doubt that at some point in your life, you’ve been convinced that the only way to workout properly at home is to have a treadmill, workout ball, weights, and yoga mat all ready to go.

This is completely false. Don’t rush into buying the kit before you know that home workouts are suitable for you, and you know you’re actually going to stick to them.

In the meantime, get down to basics!

Your carpet will be just as effective as a yoga mat, and you really don’t need that treadmill when there’s a beautiful park near your home.

As for the weights… use canned foods or large water bottles. Trust us, when you start working through those reps you will really feel the burn.

The number of reps you need to do is all down to you and how you feel. Make sure you push yourself but don’t go too far.

Let’s sweat

You’re all set to be a home workout king or queen! It won’t be long before you’re sharing your tips and tricks on Instagram, modeling for workout gear and feeling fabulous in your own skin. And all because of a Kool8 water bottle…
