Some simple ways to bring back happy travel memories

Sadly, we are still in the grips of the coronavirus crisis, so for most of us enjoying travel again feels like a distant goal. One day, we will be able to get back to exploring, but for now, the best we can do is to remember some of the great experiences we have already had. Here are a few ways you can do that.

Decorate your home using some of your favorite travel memories

Now that we are all spending so much time at home, it is even more important that we turn it into a space we love by redecorating or changing things up a bit. There are many ways you can use your holiday snaps and souvenirs to help you to do this. Just check out these canvas prints to see what I mean. All you need to do to be able to create new wall art for your home is to upload some of your favorite travel photos, choose a frame, size, and print material. Then hit buy and wait for your new wall art to arrive. It is really easy. They make good presents too.

Dig out some of your souvenirs

You could also use some of the souvenirs you have sitting around in boxes to give a shelf or corner a fresh new look. If you can’t find anything you are keen on displaying as it is, consider using your crafting skills to give it a new look. That statue you bought in Thailand could look completely different if you spray it, put it on a corner nook shelf, and up-light it. This article will help you to get this project right.

Cook your favorite dishes

Most of us have done a lot more cooking during the lockdown. So, if there is a favorite dish you enjoyed during your travels, try to recreate it.

Create an old-fashioned travelogue

If you have the time, sit down, and put your photos, notes, videos, mementos, and souvenirs into some sort of order. Once you have done that you can easily use an app like this one to create a travelogue. Years from now you will be glad that you did. Reading a travelogue is far more satisfying than flicking through hundreds of photos on your tablet in search of that perfect one you took of the Northern Lights.

Of course, there is a risk that doing all of this will make you feel a little melancholy. This is understandable, after all, you have lost the ability to do something that you dearly love. So, if you feel like that pack everything away and wait a few weeks before trying again to relieve some of your favorite travel experiences. In time, you will find looking at your holiday snaps brings a smile to your face and joy to your heart instead of leaving you feeling a little sad. Especially when you remember that the time will eventually come when you will be able to get out there and create some fresh travel memories.
