4 Ways to Create the Ultimate Home Cinema Room

Having a home cinema is on the wish list of many people nowadays. Such a luxury is much sought after in these days of lockdown and quarantine, thanks to COVID-19 when cinemas and other entertainment venues are closed. Fortunately, setting up such a facility in your home need not be complicated or expensive. Here are 4 ways to create the ultimate home cinema room.

The Audio/Visual Equipment

Home theaters can be as basic or advanced as your budget allows.  At the very least, a home cinema should include a television, an AV receiver, and a DVD player or blu ray player.

An audio/video receiver is a device that receives audio and visual signals from a range of equipment, decodes it and sends optical signals to a television or projector, and sends audio signals to the speaker system. The sound of a movie shown on the screen will be more powerful than if just transmitted through the built-in tv speakers.

If money is no object, you can consult a professional home cinema company that will meet with you and design the ultimate home theatre system for you. They will install a giant screen, state-of-the-art AV equipment, and even supply seating and décor ideas.

The Furniture

It is important to be as comfortable as possible when you are sitting watching a movie.  Look for bespoke leather cinema seats that recline and have drink and snack holders built in.  If you have a family with young children, you might want to purchase kid friendly sofas, which can be easily cleaned if cinema snacks get spilled.

If you have a large television, you will need a piece of furniture to place it on – unless you mount it on the wall.  Consider installing some built-in shelving that covers a whole wall so you can house the screen, AV equipment and store CDs and DVDs.

The Décor

To make your home cinema feel and look authentic, decorate it in dark colors and block out any natural light by dressing the windows with blackout blinds or curtains.  If you have a large room with numerous seats, you may want to adapt the floor, so it is inclined, making rear seating rows higher than those in front.

Create a relaxing, comfortable room by furnishing it with lots of soft cushions to sink into, plush carpet, and dark paint on the walls.  Decorate with framed movie posters and stylish, dimmable wall lights.

The Luxuries

Add some luxury to your home theatre by installing a refrigerator for drinks, a snack bar, and even a popcorn machineStock the fridge with ice cream and candy to give the family an awesome movie experience.

Adults could turn their room into a full-on entertainment venue by building a bar area with a full stock of liquor, bar seating, and a pool table. You and your friends can watch sports games on the big screen too – you are not just limited to just movies.
