2021 Wedding Trends

About 95% of couples decided to postpone their wedding in 2020. This means that the $74 billion wedding industry is going to be busier than ever as we move into 2021. With this boom in weddings, we are going to see a strong rise in trends.  Whether you’re planning a redo or planning for the first time, it helps to look at the current wedding trends. This helps you figure out what you like and don’t like.  Check out these 2021 wedding trends and get inspired for your big day.

Location

With COVID shutting down and venues drastically limiting the guest list, more couples are looking for alternatives. This has led to a rise in the popularity of backyard weddings. This trend isn’t limited to weddings during covid, though.  More couples are embracing this trend and turning the yard into an elegant space. Add romantic lighting to the space to set the mood. Arrange casual mismatched seating like armchairs and love seats.  Create a living room feel in your outdoor living space. This has a more intimate feel for your close friends and family.

Colors

Wedding color trends in 2021 are embracing colors that are bold and vibrant. Say goodbye to the pure white and creams. One popular approach is to get inspired by nature and use colors you’ll find naturally in the wilderness.  Don’t be afraid to incorporate nature-inspired prints. You can also use more than one color. A color palette that uses multiple colors will create a more vibrant and multi-dimensional wedding decor.

Food

In light of COVID, more couples are taking previous trends and adapting them to be more sanitary. Large charcuterie boards that are overflowing with food are out. In their place are single-serving-sized boards that guests can hold.  Another trend is to scale the size of the food down. Skip the extra-large servings and instead opt for bite-sized nibbles. These are easier to eat and encourage more interaction.

Gifts

Wedding registry lists will always have their place. However, more couples are getting married later in life. This means they typically already have all of the items that would traditionally be on a wedding registry.   To replace these items, couples are more interested in sentimental gifts. These are gifts that have personal meaning to the couple. One cute wedding gift idea is a keepsake wedding gift that commemorates the big day.  The couple will have a certificate that declares their wedding day as theirs. The gift comes with an elegant certificate printed on delicate parchment and carefully drawn calligraphy. There’s also a dedicated webpage where the couple can celebrate their love with pictures, videos, and more.

Flowers

Many couples are saying no to the traditional floral displays. Instead, they are looking for more affordable alternatives. You could use dried flowers that retain the beauty of the flower but don’t have the short lifespan of fresh flowers.  Natural grasses are a great way to create voluminous displays that have an earthy feel to them. However, if you are traditional and appreciate the authenticity of a beautiful garland of fresh flowers you can visit their website to make your wish come true.
