How To Make A Little Extra Money Before Christmas

All opinions are mine and mine alone.

There are only a few weeks until Christmas and this is when the panic starts to set in for some people, especially if they have no Christmas budget set aside. The last few years have been tough on everyone so it’s not surprising that we all want to make it a bit special around this time of the year. But how can you make some extra cash to pay for Christmas? Here are some ideas.

Sell your car

If you are working from home, there is a good chance that you don’t need your car as much as you used to. Some people have discovered that they haven’t used them and they are now nothing more than scrap metal. Using a service that can sell junk car or buy it from you means that you can get rid of the hunk of metal rotting outside your house and have a nice amount to pay for your gifts. If you have a newer car, you could make a lot of money by using the right service. But make sure that you don’t leave yourself completely without transport. Always check out the public transport available in your area.

Cashback

There are a ton of websites that offer cash back services when you spend money with them. These websites are pretty neat as you can buy the product that you want, and the website sends you some money. These websites make money as a referral service, and rather than keep all of the profit, they pass it on to you. That is pretty sweet, especially if you can buy your Christmas gifts online as you could get a nice amount of cashback too. This is great if you have the money to invest in the gifts now because when you receive your cashback, you can use it to buy more gifts.

Temp jobs

If you have some extra time on your hands, you could take up a temp job for the season. Every year, thousands of retailers search for temporary staff to work in the warehouses to help process the orders that they get at Christmas. Normally this search begins in October as this is when the pace starts to pick up with Christmas orders. These jobs can sometimes lead to a permanent job but if you just want to work over the Christmas period (and take advantage of the staff discount) you should let the company know when you start.

Freelancing

If a temp job isn’t for you, you could try your hand at freelancing. There are plenty of places that are crying out for freelance help right now so don’t be afraid to put your arm in and let people know that you are viable. It only takes one or two good jobs to ensure that you are having a very merry Christmas. There are countless sites for freelancers to find work, it just depends on your skillset and how much time you have available. And, once you register for these sites, you can drop in from time to time and pick up some work when you need to.
