Although the weather outside may be frightful, that doesn’t mean your winter has to be! With the right supplies, you can make your home cosy and comfortable all season long. Here are some essential items you need for a cosy winter:
Warm Blanket or Quilt
This is a must-have for snuggling up on the couch while watching your favourite holiday movies. The best part is that you can use it year after year! Make sure to choose a blanket or quilt in a soft and cosy material like cotton, fleece, wool or flannel. It’s also nice to have an extra throw blanket on hand when your guests come over.
Fireplace or Heater
Nothing beats the warmth of a roaring fire on a cold winter night! If you don’t have a fireplace, consider investing in a space heater to keep your whole family warm. If you’d like to go the extra mile and make your space a little cosier, a faux fireplace or some scented candles can do the trick! Options such as the bubble candle is a great one if you want some relaxation and feel cozy at the same time. You need candles in your home in the winter months because candles help to create ambience in the space.
Sweaters and Jackets
A good sweater or jacket is vital for keeping warm when the weather outside is frightful. Make sure to choose a style that will keep you comfortable all day long.
Hats, Scarves, and Gloves
These are essential for keeping your head, neck, and hands warm during the winter months. In addition, be sure to choose hats, scarves, and gloves made of materials that will wick away moisture and keep you warm.
Hot Water Bottle or Plush Warmer
A hot water bottle or plush warmer is a must for keeping warm during winter. The hot water bottle can be used to heat your bed before getting in, while the plush warmer can be microwaved and used as a heating pad.
We recommend Warmies; they warm up in minutes in a conventional microwave and provide soothing warm heat for an average of 30-45 minutes. After use, warmies will retain the warmth for up to half an hour, perfect for bedtime warmers or just snuggling on the sofa! In addition, warmies are lightly scented with French Lavender which helps to aid relaxation and improve sleep.
Thermals
Thermal underwear is a must for staying toasty in cold weather. We love these Uniqlo Heattech thermals (Men, Women). They are lightweight, breathable and made with a special material that helps trap your body heat.
Snow Boots
While many people believe that any old pair of shoes will do in the winter, this could not be further from the truth. To battle the cold and snow, you need a good pair of snow boots. Ensure to get water-resistant or waterproof boots if you live in an area where it snows frequently. Not only will they keep your feet warm and dry, but they will also keep you from slipping on the ice.
Heavy Coat
A heavy coat is a must-have for winter. Look for one made of thick, insulating material and has a hood to protect your head and neck from the cold wind. Make sure the coat is big enough to fit over your clothes, so you can stay warm even when the temperature drops below freezing.
In conclusion, we recommend these items to help you have a cosy winter. We hope this list helps you get through the colder months ahead! So stay warm and enjoy the season.
