To put things into perspective, most cyclists tend to pedal around 10 to 12 miles per hour with limited training or experience. However, depending on the type of motor these bikes use some can reach higher speeds than 20 mph.

Safety is perhaps the most important feature to look out for when purchasing an electric bike. Although this form has become incredibly popular, there has been a notable increase in the number of e-bike accidents as well. Remember to drive safely and always wear a helmet.

No matter what bike you end up choosing, you should consider purchasing a basic insurance package. This will help cover the costs for any unforeseen damages that can be expensive to repair out of your own pocket. Some suppliers offer their free insurance for the first 12 months, so make sure to do your research.   

Comfort   

At the end of the day, you’ll need a comfortable bike. There’s no point in spending all that money on an electronic vehicle if it’s unbearable to ride. To be sure of your purchase, ask your local dealership for a test run before buying.
