5 Side Hustles to Try This Year

We all want to save a little money, but that can be hard to do when your income only covers the necessities. In these cases, your options are to ask for a raise, find a new job or start a side hustle.

Over the past few years, the concept of side hustles has grown more and more popular and also more and more accessible. There are now tonnes of options for people to earn extra money, and many of these jobs can be done from the comfort of your own home. If you’re looking to bring in some extra cash, here are a few options you could try.

 Sell Products From Home

Direct selling is a very popular side hustle. This allows you to work with a company to help them promote and sell their products. You usually have a quota to meet each month, and will earn a commission off each sale you make – easy money!  If you want to start direct selling, you can look for the top MLM jewelry companies, or businesses that sell any products you’re interested in such as supplements, skin products, watches, and even household goods.

Transcription

If you’re good with language, a quick typer and a sharp listener, you might want to try out transcription. These jobs are incredibly flexible and you’ll be able to work as much as you want, whenever you want, making them perfect for after your usual work hours.  There are loads of different transcription websites that you could apply for, some of which will require some testing.

 Freelance Your Skills

If you’re an exceptional writer, have a keen proofreading eye, are great with graphic design or have any other marketable skills, you can start freelancing. Create a profile listing your skills and experience on a few freelance websites and apply for all the jobs that interest you. The more experience you have, the higher rates you can charge, so the money will start rolling in as you get things moving.

Start a YouTube Channel or Podcast

You could also create online content for YouTube or start a podcast and eventually start making cash off it through advertising and even brand deals. This typically takes a little longer to get off the ground, but if you have a passion for a certain topic and are willing to put in the hard work, you’ll be able to get started.

You’ll need a certain amount of subscribers and views before you can start getting monetized, but once that happens, more views will equate to more money

 Sell Your Stuff

Finally, you could sell some of your old things online for extra money if you really need it. There are plenty of websites to use or you could even just post items on your social media accounts.  There are loads of items you could sell – even if you think they’re junk, someone else might get some use out of them. Even broken electronics could be used for parts, and the material from old ripped clothing could be repurposed to make something new.
