Beauty Trends That Have Skyrocketed This Year

All opinions are mine and mine alone

Beauty trends are sometimes like fashion trends. They come and go without ever really having a lasting impact. There are some that do. For example, when avocado came onto the scene in rubs, scrubs and creams, most of us laughed it off. Here we are a few years later, and it’s one of the most popular ingredients big brands use in their product ranges. So this year, some beauty trends that have made an impact and are most likely to stick around, need to be explored. It’s better for you to be away from them than to catch the train late when they are already far more advanced.

Brand new smile

Everywhere you look, invisible braces are taking off. It’s not just a FAD, the technology really works. Unlike metal braces, pure tension is not the only thing that is being used. These invisible braces are made using a 3D printer. They send you a simple mold in their pack, which you bite down on and then send back. They will then use a laser to scan the mold and create totally bespoke invisible braces which will only fit your teeth. This means that less tension is required to push and pull your teeth to become aligned. It takes less time too, such as 6-12 months instead of the conventional braces time of 12-18 months.

Skinmalisim

The days of really expressive makeup are somewhat gone. A new term ‘skinimalism’ is being used by beauty lovers to discuss methods and products that promote a more natural look. Skincare is very important and lots of makeup is too tiring for your skin to deal with. So brands that create lighter and more sustainable products for your makeup needs are growing in popularity. Brands like Lilah Beauty are edging ahead of large names like Olay because they are utilizing ingredients like coconut oil, agar and aloe which are all-natural plant-based materials.

Monochrome look

Basing on the skinmalism trend, the monochrome style is taking a new approach to color coordination. It’s a look that blends lips, cheeks and eyes together. So if you want a faded blush on your cheeks, a faded lipstick of the same shade and a similar eyeshadow are going to work very well. This creates a singular or rather more coordinated look which is smoother and easier on the eyes. Not to mention, it can look like you’ve done a minimal makeup look, and you’re not afraid to merge natural beauty with a specific shade.

Face masks

Face masks used to be really big. They were easy to use, affordable and they just worked. But, as scrubs and serums became more popular, face masks kind of died away. However, thanks to new face masks using ingredients like avocado, honeysuckle, coconut and a whole list of natural and sustainable products, face masks are returning

These beauty trends have got some legs. Let’s see how far they can go before being dethroned. Which of these do you think you will try yourself?
