Get Glowing Skin With These Tasty Treats

Have you ever eaten a few chocolates too many and broken out in spots? Or perhaps had a few days of junk food only for it to be evident on your face a few days later? If so, you will know how important what you eat is to your skin, nails, and hair. While great supplements like biotin and collagen can give you a boost, it’s better to get most of what you need from your diet – and these foods listed below pack a punch! So here are a few foods that can give you skin the TLC it deserves and are tasty to boot. 

Shiitake Mushrooms

Shiitake mushrooms are high in kojic acid, a chemical that brightens the skin naturally and inhibits the formation of melanin pigment. Shiitake is known as a “natural hydroquinone alternative,” It can help you naturally remove sun spots, melasma, and pigmentation. Pumpkin

This vibrant orange vegetable pretty much packs one of the biggest punches when it comes to giving everything your skin needs in a tasty package. Pumpkins are an incredible source of vitamins A and vitamins C, as well as a whole host of antioxidants.  But it doesn’t stop there. Pumpkins are also incredibly rich in zinc which is what our body needs to create new skin cells and helps regulate oil production. Adding plenty of pumpkins to your diet can improve your overall skin tone and reduce the appearance of open pores.

It’s important to note that you cannot shrink pores but take better care of them. If you want to enjoy everything that pumpkin has to offer, you can make a face mask with just 3 tablespoons of pumpkin, half a teaspoon of honey, and half a teaspoon of milk. Leave it on your face for around 20-minutes.

Beetroot

Some people absolutely adore beetroot and other people can’t stand it and say that it tastes like dirt. No matter which camp you are in, this bright pink root veggie has so many good properties that you should add it to a diet ASAP. Adding beetroot into your diet will give you a considerable boost of niacin, copper, vitamin C, iron, and potassium. You’ll notice that within about 5 weeks of having beetroot regularly, you’ll see an improvement in your skin. The fastest way to have beetroot is simply to drink the juice. 

Kale

We know that when it comes to dark leafy greens, they are nothing but good for us. Kale, in particular, offers an incredible amount of vitamin C, vitamin K, and vitamin A. All incredible when it comes to helping repair skin tissue damage. They also can prevent free radical damage and give you a radiant and fresh look.If you simply cannot stand the taste of kale, then it’s a good idea to add some into your smoothie instead and cover it with a flavor like a banana. If you prefer to have your kale a little crunchy, then spend some time making kale chips in the air fryer.

Oranges

Most people don’t know that; actually, the peel of the orange has more vitamin C than the whole of the orange itself. The peel is packed with antibacterial properties and antimicrobial properties too. Using orange regularly in a face mask will give you bright skin in no time. It is essential to know you should be diluting some of that orange-peel power; you can add it into yogurt and smooth that on the skin. But if you are on a budget and want to add some Vit c to your skincare as soon as possible and then add 1 tbsp of orange peel powder and two tablespoons of yogurt, mix it up and smear it on your face.

Carrots

If you often have extensive acne breakouts or suffer from clogged pores, carrots most likely will help you see a considerable improvement. Carrots are super rich in vitamin A and help prevent excess sebum production. This can be one of the reasons that your pores get clogged and lead to a breakout or blackheads.  Make sure you’re eating plenty of crunchy carrots, and that can help flush out the toxins, stop your pores clogging up, and leave behind a fresh and healthy look.

Papaya

We should be eating plenty of fresh fruit anyway; if you like it a little bit on the tropical side, papaya cheers to the perfect thing. Papayas are rich in papain which is one of the things that gives your skin a hydrated and youthful look. So add some poets into your diet to help rejuvenate your skin and add a youthful glow. You could eat the papaya or simply drink the juice, but you’re most likely to see an improvement in a matter of weeks.

Eggs

It doesn’t really matter how you eat; your eggs are a huge source of protein and are known to give glowing skin. You’ll often see some of the most famous face masks have egg white in them as they are known to firm and tighten. Egg whites are very common in the much-loved Korean skincare routines and products. 

One of the critical ingredients in eggs is sulfur, and this is a necessary chemical for the production of collagen, which can help you maintain firm and glowing skin. While you must be keeping hydrated and drinking plenty of water, what you put into your body also impacts your skin. Eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables will give your skin that healthy-looking glow that you’ve been craving.
